For me Food is intoxicating. It truly touches all of our senses. But the biggest mistake we make is not knowing what we eat. You are what you eat. What you put in your mouth and savor with each bite and each lick with your tongue is who you are. Food will affect you in two ways. Good or bad.
Understanding your food label is important. You understand calories, servings, and the vitamins and proteins you are getting from your food. But also understanding what it is made of, the ingredients is equally important. You need to know what goes in your food and where does it comes from. If you can’t understand the ingredient that is a problem.
I am Vegan so for me anything that comes from an animal does not go in my body. This lifestyle is not for everyone. But it is definitely for me. One of the ingredients I think people should avoid is gelatin. It is collagen that is extracted from the skin, hooves, bones, tissues, organs and intestines from cows, chickens, horses, pigs and many more. Even if you are not vegan do you really want to eat something that comes from an animal’s hoof?
My point in telling you this is that I want you watch what you eat. Understand that your food whether you are vegan or not should come from its most natural state. You are what you eat. So eat to keep your body healthy.
For me day 6 of my 30 day fitness challenge was all about creating a better relationship with what I put in my body. I have said it before vegans can eat unhealthy too. There is such a thing as vegan junk food!
